Work from the Same House
By Lee Friedlander & Jim Dine.
Work from the Same House is a collaborative Artists book between two artists who were roommates – the photographer Lee Friedlander and print maker Jim Dine. With 16 images from each artist, each page is like a visual dialogue. Friedlander's photographs on the left and etchings by Dine on the right.
From the introduction by Jim Dine:
“Lee Friedlander and I met in 1962. He gave me a photograph of Cincinatti without knowing that I am from there. We have been exchanging things all the time since then. Friendship and pictures. Our work is from the same house. He always understands my words”. - Jim Dine, London 1969.
