By Nick Knight.
Highly collectable, photographer Nick Knight's Skinhead is an exhaustive account of the British Skinhead movement of the 1967-72 period as well as photos of London's East End Skinheads from the early 80's. Included is a discography of Skinhead hits and an illustrated fashion notebook by Jim Ferguson which delves deeper than essentials like brands to know (Ben Sherman, Fred Perry et al.) and popular footwear, into the minutiae: seam lengths, oxford shirt button changes and more. Dick Hebdige (AKA The Dick from Chris Kraus' fictional memoir I Love Dick) also contributes a sociology of youth cults: “This is England! And they don't live here”.
