Hopes for Great Happenings
Alternatives in Education and Theatre
By Albert Hunt.
It’s hard to find books on experimental theatre, especially one’s that aren’t about American experimental theatre. This was a lucky score! Between the years 1965 and 1973 a unique experiment took place at the Regional College of Art, in Bradford, England. When Albert Hunt joined the staff at in ’65 he found himself virtually creating his own syllabus – working mostly with non-academic students on fascinating range of games, projects and theatre events right outside the mainstream of exam-oriented education.
Of practical value to anybody involved in liberal studies, in theatre or in community arts work, this book offers an interesting account of Hunt’s teaching methods.
