Good morning New York (Rita Ackermann Purple Book)
Rita Ackermann is a busy woman. The Hungarian-American artist, known best for her large-scale paintings and iconic nymphettes, has created fabrics for United Bamboo, produced a lingerie line and designed windows for Macy’s. She is a curator, graphic designer and shadow puppet aficionado.
Here she collaborates with editor Olivier Zahm on a supplementary book for Purple magazine’s sixth issue. Ackermann unites tabloid newspaper cut-outs with handwritten messages, collaged photographs with pencil drawings. The effect is intense, curious and entirely unique.
