Don't Leave Me This Way: Art in the Age of AIDS

$30.00

Compiled by Ted Gott

This very sombre monograph grew out of an exhibition which the NGA staged (Nov 1994 - March 1995) to document Australia's artistic response to the AIDS tragedy. It includes the work of Australian, American & European artists and commentators. The list of artists and contributors includes big names such as: Edmund White, William Yang, Keith Haring, Cindy Sherman, David Wojnarowicz, Derek Jarman, David McDiarmid, Robert Mapplethorpe, Duane Michals and Pierre et Gilles.

An important document of an exhibition that sought to curate the visual statements of it's artists on the searing impact of AIDS, with the aim to speak to, empower and educated their audience.
