The All New Australian Graffiti
Here's a book we never knew existed and it turns out it's really very rare! The third in the Australian Graffiti series by Australian photographer Rennie Ellis (80's Ellis!) this is a riotous collection as captured by Ellis' lens. Interesting to compare these Antipodean defacements to what was happening in cities like New York at the same time. Although these scrawlings seem so primitive in comparison, what they lack in artistry they make up for in humour, lewdness and filth. Not much had changed since the 70's, when Ellis first started documenting it all. But the slogans however, reflect the sex, politics and social issues of the times.
